velvet sofa
The soft, black, sofa-shaped object here seems to be upholstered with black crushed velvet, or some remarkable facimile. It is comfortably warm to the touch. It reacts to the weight of your touch the way a beanbag would, but with a little more resiliency. Then it flows back into its previous shape, reminding you of the way a thick pudding responds to a spoon resting on its surface, then being removed.
What exactly this thing is made of is not really relevant, though. It looks comfortable enough, and it's conveniently close to the alt.romance and alt.romance.chat shelf.
