A Perfect Diamond

I saw true beauty once
Beauty and hope and peace and happiness and love
In a beautiful, bright, shining Diamond
A Perfect Diamond

I knew it was out of my reach
I loved just watching from a distance
And I dared to hope anyway
A Perfect Diamond

I went far away for a long time
But I never forgot the beauty
I never stopped dreaming of the peace
A Perfect Diamond

When I came back, the Diamond was glowing
High upon a pillar of light
Happier, but further from my reach
A Perfect Diamond

So I went away again
Far away for a long time
But I still longed for the love
A Perfect Diamond

While I was away, I saw a sapphire
The sapphire came to me and was happy
I was happy, but I still wished
A Perfect Diamond

The sapphire was not as bright
The sapphire was not at peace
I still remembered the hope
A Perfect Diamond

When I returned, I was crushed
The Diamond had fallen
The Diamond was chipped
A flawed Diamond

But the love and happiness still glowed
The Diamond was still hopeful and peaceful
And even more beautiful than before
A Perfect Diamond

But the diamond was still out of reach
In fact, even further than before
So I just watched from afar
A Perfect Diamond

And soon I will go away again
And You will stay
And I will always love You
My Perfect Diamond
