To Never be Smothered by Mold and Moss

She reaches over and holds his hand.
And a little green devil smirks at me.
He looks up and their eyes meet.
And the little green devil approaches.
They smile and they whisper and they laugh.
And I try to ignore the green demon at my side.
I look away, but the corner of my eye sees them hug.
And a growing green demon taunts me.
I tell the demon to go away.
It is abomination! It should not exist!
I deny that the demon ever was.
I look up to see her kiss him.
And the huge green monster rends my soul with its claws.
My heart screams, my mind denies, my soul shudders, but my spirit fights.
It bears down on the demon, pounding the green beast with logic, assailing it with contempt.
I turn away from the little green devil and ignore them.
