- New Paltz, New York.
New Paltz is a small college town in upstate New York that many
people suspect is actually a secret government experiment at gathering
large groups of insane people together into a "mental institution
without walls" and calling it a town. New Paltz has six other claims
to fame (or infamy, as the case may be):
- a rather small state college specializing in education, art, and
theatre.
- the oldest intact street full of original houses in America,
built by the Huguenots, Dutch settlers of that area.
- a bar named P&G's which, for no apparent reason, entirely too
many people have heard of.
- it was once a contender for the capitol of the United States of
America.
- Stephen King set one of his books there (I don't remember which.
If you know which it was, please
Email me.)
- that's where David Noelle grew up
